I have a dual firewire drive enclosure for my iBook, it has two 20gig drives full of MP3s both ripped from now-extinct PCs*. They are both FAT32.
In 10.2 it worked great. After the first update, the second drive came up blank. A few more updates later and I started getting a message saying the drive was corrupted. Now after the last few updates it works great, all my files have magically appeared.
Go Apple!
* There probably should be some clever commentary here about the advantages of staying away from DRM. Not only do the machines the audio was created on no longer exist, they were a different architecture altogether.
