no more SPAM on your phone

I just called the mobile phone of a friend but insted of reaching him I heared a deep male voice asking me to punch in the access code or I'll be redirected to /dev/null. (though I think the exact phrase he used was voice mail). As I don't know my friends access code yet I had to wait for the fallback to take place and leave a message to beg for access.

Nice! From now on - if he ever gives out his secret pin number to me - I'll have to remember a 4 digit long access code to each one of my friends.

Maybe if I am lucky the system will let me just add the extra numbers to the phone number I am dialing so I can add them to the memory of my own phone. If I have such a phone.

So I guess the phone numbers have also started to inflate

So far I encountered this only on a single mobile phone number but as I can see you can buy Call filters for 90-160 USD for your land line as well.

What a progress in human communication !
