Quite often I have to explain what's the difference between the state of mind of a Perl pProgrammer and a Python Programmer. I often try to point to the obvious difference between TMTOWTDI and TORWTDI (There's One Right Way To Do It) pointing out that Python programmers tend to think Perl is bad while Perl programmers think there is place for other langugages too.
Unfortunately this is not true. No, I don't mean there is no place for other languages. What I mean is that there are enough Perl enthusiast who think other languages are rubbish.
My current observation is that those who say there is place for both Perl and Python tend to call themself Perl hackers. So of course there are Perl biggots just as there are in other languages but thoses who accept plurality prefer to belong to the Perl camp. Maybe becasue we let them be liberal in their view ?
