At PTI we have started to work on a set of modules and scripts that will provide the users with a searchable interface to their POD documentation on their desktop.
podindex is an HTML interface to the PODs installed on our server. From the same place you can also download an alpha version of the Pod::Index module which is the indexer and a command line interface to the PODs on your desktop and a pre-alpha version of Pod::Index::Wx which is a WxPerl interface to the same database.
