ActiveState CPAN Build Breakage?

Unless my imaginiation is playing tricks, stuff is going missing from the ActiveState PPM repository. DBD::MySql used to be there, but now it's not (though there is a "pure perl" driver), and I'm pretty sure there was more XML stuff there a few weeks back. ActiveState's CPAN Build Report pages for 5.6 and 5.8 (warning: big pages) shows lots of breakage, but I don't know whether this is normal or not. (I expect that some breakage is normal.)

Is anyone here tied into ActiveState enough to provide a clue as to what's going on?

I installed 5.8 for the first time from ActiveState about a month and a half ago, and found that they had nearly no support for modules. Mainly I've had to use Randy Kobes repository for a lot of things (see this thread for where stuff is). Randy's repository is usually much more up-to-date than ActiveState for MySQL and the XML-related modules.

The alternative, assuming you have Win XP or 2000, is to download the .NET SDK and just use CPAN instead.
