Roger Wilco arrives

A friend of mine and I, along with some of his friends, are going to form a "team" for Battlefield: 1942. Since typing is a pain (and can get you killed if you're snuck up on) we've decided to geek out and use Roger Wilco, which is just some software that lets you communicate over your online connection. I went and bought the headset (w/ microphone) today and we tested it out. Works alright.

Between email, IM and online voice communication, I wonder how long before the phone companies are toast. I think cell phones are pretty much here to stay, though.

A bunch of us at the Hall I used to live at went out and bought microphones /
headphones when half- life/counter- strike got its speech facility.

Then we abandoned the builtin speech feature for Roger Wilco so
we could talk while dead, or while the map was cycling. Or while playing
"Emperor: Battle for Dune" =)

Speech is really much better than typing during these games.
