Last night I got together with three members of the Denver CORE (COlorado Ruby Enthusiasts). It was nice to actually put some faces to the IRC nicknames. All Perl programmers, too.
They were kind enough to be guinea pigs for my upcoming presentation at the Ruby Conference. I'm glad I did because I found out two things - that they liked it and that there was a bug in my code (easily fixed and didn't affect presentation).
I also proposed that the Ruby CORE group have a Quake (or whatever) match against Denver.pm. Who says language wars can't be fun?
