I made a slight goof in the last trivia question. As one imdb poster points out, "This is not an update or a remake of The Thing From Another World. It is an adaptation of Who Goes There?, a John W. Campbell short story."
He's right, although I should note that a later comic book (based on the notion that Childs and MacReady were saved by a sub) *was* entitled "The Thing From Another World", although maybe the title is a moot point.
In any case, it's still one of my favorite horror films of all time. After 20 years, it still holds up rather well I think. Most other people tend to agree, and even younger kids that have recently seen it for the first time seem to like it.
