Well, I went out and did it. I bought a laptop. I decided to get a rather low-end one using Best Buy's "design your own". That worked out nicely - I don't need speed or anything particularly powerful for what I want. I just want something I can use out on the patio, play with on the plane and give the odd PowerPoint presentation with, if needed.
It should be here within 2 weeks.
