Version numbering gone awry

Due to pure laziness, I finally found an excuse to download File::Slurp. I get to the link to discover that not only is there some kind of packaging goof (why is there a 'modules' parent directory?), but that the version number is rather odd.

The most recent version is '98.071901'. Yikes! And I thought the Tcl & Tk version numbering systems were bad.

Ahh, I remember the good old days of 97.234884, and even the now ancient version we had with 93.300321 (a version should not be confused with 93.3003201b, which is *clearly* a different product, though it confused many neophytes). Now THOSE were the days, eh?
