We've had "Story Tellers" and "Adrenaline Pumpers". How about songs that put you in the mood? Or, songs that you listen too while you're already IN the mood? ;)

  • Trip Like I Do - Crystal Method
  • Burn - Sister Machine Gun (Mortal Combat)
  • Closer - Nine Inch Nails
  • Into the Void - Nine Inch Nails
  • Justify My Love - Madonna
  • The Orgy - Basil Poledouris (Conan the Barbarian)
  • Play With Me - Thompson Twins (Cool World)
  • Industry and Seduction - Tom Bailey (Cool World)
  • Principles of Lust - Enigma
And your favorites? I'm guessing there must be some Marvin Gaye and Barry White fans out there. :)

Though I don't understand a word of it, I (and my SO) really like Ribhinn O by Runrig (yep, that's where I nicked my nick from :-) It sounds like a lusty song, and looking at the translation of the lyrics confirms that it is indeed a lusty song.

A song can be about anything you want. :)

Yeah, it's generally interpreted to be about drugs, but the, "Oh my God, you're the best" line always sounded like some sort of post-coital remark to me.* The song "When the Rush Comes" could also be about drugs, but I always interpreted "rush" as "orgasm". Hey, sex IS a drug after all, right? ;)

* Some lyric sheets claim she's saying, "Oh my God, this is the best", but it sure doesn't sound like it to me.

I always figured it to be a call to arms for clumsy people...

Would you believe "Night Comes In" by Richard (& Linda) Thompson, (from the "guitar, vocal" album)?

Savage Garden's self titled CD. I don't really care for "Santa Monica" but the variety of the beat of the rest of the songs...
