I returned from RubyConf 2004 yesterday and much fun was had by all. I received several compliments on my talk, so that was good. I need to move it along a little quicker next time because I didn't get to cover half of what I wanted to.
In other news, I see that Kodak has sued and won, in a patent case against Sun. Normally I would laugh at Sun's misfortune, but this is downright scary if you ask me. This case has got to be overturned or the future of software development could be seriously affected. Or, maybe I'm just overreacting, but it sure seems bad.
It's times like these that I'm actually glad there's that 800 pound gorilla known as "Microsoft" in the IT corner.
