The "One Family, One Child" philosophy sounded so good in theory and has failed utterly in practice because it didn't take cultural considerations into account.

The thought crossed my mind. My guess is that there will be a national "Girls Rock!" government campaign of some sort to try to redress the imbalance. Even so, it'll take at least 10 years to fix.
