After upgrading your Oracle client, make sure your PATH hasn't been mangled by the installer. It seems the installer would rather install some local version of the JDK rather than checking to see if you have one already installed. That, or maybe I missed an option somewhere.
Anyway, you'll know you've hit this when Eclipse stops working because it's trying to use JDK 1.3.x instead of 1.4.x.
