The difference is I bet I would have gotten this week's story done if we had been working in the same area. Trying to do it via IM or email, when I'm totally stuck on something, just isn't working.

I'm glad I read these comments; I was about to rebutt with a comment along the lines of "what's *wrong* with Terminal Services?" ;-)
Whilst I'm not an XP practitioner, from what I've read it does seem to rely on close communication. I feel for you.
