Yay, Microcenter

While in KC, we paid a visit to Microcenter, which is similar to a CompUSA. However, Microcenter has something that CompUSA doesn't - the bargain book section! Oh, and the bargain game section!

This weekend I picked up Oracle & Open Source, Oracle Parallel Processing and Patrician II for $4 each. :)

What???

Did I get this wrong, or... you actually go to a store and bargain for the
price of books?

That doesn't even seem odd... that sounds completely weird!!!

Am I missing something? :-\

Hmm? No, the "bargain book section" is just the part of the store where all the cheap books are. They're a real "bargain", hence the name.

Oh, *that* bargain :-)

That's very cool. I've been playing "Oracle Parallel Processing" for some time now, but I can never get past the big monster on level 8.

kids these days.. *grumble*

Why, back in our day, we'd actually do a "shutdown abort" on the database and flush it clean of monsters on recovery mode. You ain't livin' till you get to the point where you pray for the database to come up normally (and it usually doesn't)
