Like most clueless companies, IE is the standard here. This patch could potentially cause a huge stink this week, as we've discovered that it seriously affects some of our web-based applications. I don't see an obvious way to uninstall it, either.
For my particular application, the effect appears to be minor - it only affects a couple people in a couple places. The solution I've given them is to download Mozilla/Firebird and use that instead. This isn't an option for folks in the field, however, who are mostly using dialup.
They're pushing this patch out to everyone tonight and tomorrow. Maybe I'll take a couple days off. ;)

Short version - the "username:password@" syntax is no longer allowed in a URL. Yes, bad practice in general, and none of the newer apps do this, but some of the older ones do. A couple folks on our team had to go in and hand-edit a bunch of links yesterday.
