Do NOT attempt to use the "merge partitions" option in Partition Magic 8 on Win2k. Sweet Jesus did it fuck up my system. I had to reload the OS. Good thing there was nothing critical on this thing.
The bright side of having a non-working computer is that it inspired me to get some work done that I had kept putting off. I moved my computer desk out of my main bedroom and into the guest bedroom (it was too crowded), oiled the entire desk with Dansk oil (it's wood btw), vacuumed, did laundry, reorganized some of my computer books and unpacked the few remaining boxes that I hadn't touched since the move.
Now, to reload all the patches and software. :(
