Yesterday I decided to go for a bike ride around the Chatfield Reservoir, partly because it was very nice out and partly because my sister is coming for a visit this weekend. I wanted to see if it was worth a visit.
It's definitely very pretty. Unfortunately, I hit a bunch of goatheads (nasty little thorns with long spikes) that turned *both* tires into Swiss cheese. That was at about the halfway point - ugh.
Several people were nice enough to offer assistance but there was little they could do with two flat tires, each with about 50 punctures. One man was kind enough to give me some extra water. I was certainly envious of the folks on horseback that I saw as I slowly pushed my bike towards home.
On the bright side, I got a good suntan and lots of exercise. ;)
