I got a new PC desktop today - a speedy little P4 with gobs of RAM. This is nice because I'll need it for the .NET software that came preinstalled, including VC++ 7 and Visual Studio (mmmmm...yummy). Hell, it even has Java on it, which made installing Eclipse a tad easier. Maybe my boss would be willing to pay for ActiveState's Visual Perl plugin. Yeah, keep dreaming...
I had some peculiar PATH and LIB issues that took me about 30 minutes and 5 restarts to work out, but I finally got it. VC++ 7 moved around some of the include files a bit, so that was annoying.
In other news, I'm going to trade monitors with the woman two cubicles down because she actually has a Sun monitor with dual input, whereas I'm currently stuck with two monitors for two machines, which takes up lots of desk space. She appears to work from home most days, so she didn't mind.
