Damn, people! I had no idea there was a "MySQL vs PostgreSQL" debate going on out there, and I'm usually pretty up on this sort of thing. I guess I've been using Oracle so long, I never really bothered to pay attention before.
In any case, I'm actually hoping we stick with Oracle for a few reasons:
- I'm used to it now
- I've invested in a bunch of books
- The alternative is probably MS SQL Server
At home I can never bring myself to play with databases. I just can't bring myself to start using MySQL (or any RDBMS) just to store 50 address cards. I just end up using my Yahoo address book, which gives me more time to play
Battlefield: 1942 or something.
