I noticed ActiveState put Komodo 2.3 out, so I downloaded both the Windows and Linux versions for evaluation. For Windows I have to say that it is much improved from 2.0. More responsive and hasn't crashed on me. Looks nice.
I haven't tried the Linux version yet. Instead, I tried installing it on Solaris - heh. I figured that I have so many GNU/3rd party libs off of sunfreeware it *just might* work. Alas, no, it chokes on an XPCOM shared object which appears to have been prebuilt on Linux - drat.
I've emailed ActiveState to see if they'll let me "build from scratch" so to speak, though I don't have high hopes. In any case, based on my (brief) Windows experience, it appears to be a much more solid product.
