Maybe instead of writing custom C extensions for MS Windows I should just use the Win32 API when possible. Ya think?
That reminds me, someday I'd like to pick up Dave Roth's Win32 Perl Programming: The Standard Extensions.
Both books are worth it
I would suggest both of Roth's books. I have the first and second editon of 'Extensions.
Win32 Perl Scripting: The Administrator's Handbook takes "The Standard Extensions" and extends them and distills them into stuff an admin would use.
If you can, buy 'em both because there really isn't too many books better for figuring out how to do things on win32 systems.
Get It!

I bought
Win32 Perl Programming: The Standard Extensions. last year when I was farting around with some Win32 specific Perl at work. It's worth getting IMHO.
