Going to California

I think that everything's set for my trip to San Diego. My flight leaves Gatwick at 11am tomorrow and by the magic of an 8-hour time difference I arrive soon after 2pm. Of course, coming back it takes a bout a week!

Actually, there's a couple of last minute things to sort out. I might well release version 2.0 of Symbol::Approx::Sub tonight if I get time inbetween laundry and packing.

Had an extra london.pm technical meeting last night. A last chance for some people to practice TPC or YAPC::E talks. We had:

  • Red Davies giving an extract from his Gtk tutorial
  • Richard Clamp talking about using tcpbug as a teaching tool
  • Leon talking about Graphing Perl. Ok, actually he didn't do that. This talk was about testing and Perl.
  • Simon Wistow talking about his Perl::Flash project. This looks great, but I wonder sometimes about its impact on the internet's bandwidth :)

The week after TPC Brian Ingerson is coming to London on his way to YAPC::Europe. He's going to give us a talk on Inline on Tuesday 31st July.

And, hey, I got mentioned in gnat's journal. If anyone's interested, the code in question did make it into production :)

The next entry will hopefully be from San Diego, assuming I can a) get a wireless card and b) configure it properly.
