Ok, here's a thought. We'll organise a group of disaffected Perl programmers together and split the work between us. That way we'll have it done in a fraction of the time.

Don't underestimate the amount of restless energy in the Ruby community right now. It might take less time to catch up with the useful parts of CPAN than you might think.

That is very true. The Ruby community is jumping at this point in time.

If it worked better on Windows I might consider using it.

If Parrot succeeds at all of its goals, then Ruby, Perl5/6, Python, etc may be able to share libraries. Then maybe we'll all be able to program in our favorite language, but not need to reinvent all of the wheels.
