When I checked my friends use.perl journals this morning I saw that two or three of them had recieved rejections for their OSCON proposals overnight so I was dreading checking my email.
And sure enough, there were three rejection emails waiting in my inbox.
But I proposed four talks.
My current assumption is that Vee only got some of the way through sending the rejections out before she had to go home. I'm fully expecting to complete the set on Monday afternoon.
From where I'm sitting it's hard to believe that on my first trip to OSCON (Monterey 2000) I paid for the whole trip myself. Now, the only way I can afford it is if I get a tutorial accepted. That means I get free entrance to the conference, money towards my flight and a fee which goes towards paying for the hotel. It brings the costs down to acceptable levels.
The missing rejection is for a tutorial on "Idiomatic Perl". So all hope is not yet lost.
