Here's an interesting piece of Perl history that I found on the Google news archive whilst waiting for the hangover to to go away this morning.
For people who have their literal heads on, it's a story (an allegory even!) about the changes to the internet (or, more specifically, Usenet) brought about by The September That Never Ended.
It's interesting to read the whole thread to see various people's reactions.
