Last night was one of those increasingly rare evenings when I had nothing urgent to get done[1] so I decided to have a go at sorting out some of the small niggles with the Fedora installation on my laptop.
All in all it was very successful. I got both the Flash and Java plugins working with Mozilla. I installed unixODBC and MyODBC and managed to get the OpenOffice query builder talking to a MySQL database (it's like Access, but better!)
Best of all, I discovered apm -s. I don't know why I hadn't seen it before. I can now suspend my laptop. This makes me very happy.
[1] OK, so I could have been checking the QC manuscript of Perl Template Toolkit.
