I got an angry email this morning from someone who had visited the Californian Attorney General's web site where they apparently use nms formmail.
Unfortunately he came across an error in the way this installation of the form was configured. Even more unfortunately they are apparently using a version of the script which is rather old and for some errors (including the one that our friend encountered) it simply displays the message "Badness!".
Our friend was (quite rightly) appalled that he could get such an unhelpful message from a publically funded web site. He went on to tell me how much he objected to his tax dollars being spent on such shoddy software.
I replied giving him a quick lesson in the economics of the situation :)
