Birthday

Today, ides of March, is my birthday. I'm not sure what I'll be doing tonight but it's likely that it will involve eating and drinking, probably in sizable quantities :-)

I'm too completely broke right now to have a party, but I probably will set up something at some point. One should not live through the quarter of a century without celebrating properly...

Ah, yes. 25. That was the last birthday I really celebrated. For us folks in the US, 25 marks the age that your car insurance drops significantly. You can also rent a car without hassle.

It's been downhill ever since. ;)

Thanks! I don't own a car and don't intend to have one (Cars are completely useless in Paris and I'd have to quit drinking ;-) so that wouldn't have been the cause for specific rejoycing from me, but in France 25 is the last year you're entitled to "youth" price reductions (eg 50% off on trains and the such) and many people do tend to vow themselves to use those reductions to the max before it's too late.

With any chance, I'll be able to do that this year ;)
