ask provided a link to this diary entry, which covers a show's feature Talking to Americans. I wanted to repost it here because whlie ask called it funny (which it is), he made no comment on the relationship of its conclusion to Americans' support for the war in Iraq. Such shows obviously aim to extract the worst of people, but still, it does remain quite a bit scary.
In one episode, they (claimed they) were at Columbia University trying to get support for a petition to stop the federal health system's practice of putting the elderly on ice flows to die (and cut down on health care costs).
This may have been the same episode where they tried to incite a protest to start/stop the bombing in Saskatchewan. (I forget which.) The point they were trying to make is that Americans know nothing about geography: the protest was about bombing in Saskatchewan, Afganistan or some such frigid-sounding place.
