MacStumbler to the rescue

So I'm in PHL getting my passport on uber-really-bad-super-short-notice for YAPC::EU and I would like to go to lunch with most of pobox.com. I copied a cell number incorrectly yesterday so I ask where the nearest wireless public access point is and I'm told I need to got to kinko's twelve blocks away.

Gearing up for a long walk I decide to see if there is anything at the first park bench I find. Halleluia, MacStubler finds an open wireless network and gets me on. That was the easiest 15 yard walk of my life.

And with Apples 2.5 hours of battery life remaining, I'm all set. I only wish I can get this inside, the US Court house is much prettier than the street outside. Though I am interested in examining the United American Indians of Delaware Valley Trading Post accross the street. Perhaps after lunch.

But are you sure you have legal access to this net? After all, there have already been cases prosecuted of using "stumbled" nets. Beware.
