So I got done with my weekly meeting and the biggest thing talked about was, submit papers, do stuff at conferences, go to conferences. I understand my boss' point of view.. I'll learn much more by teaching, presenting, modertating, hosting something than just watching and listening. Also, Aaronsen get's noticed if I get noticed.
I'm glad he feels this way because I like doing all those things. And what do you know.. YAPC deadline is tonight. I also want to hold an Aaronsen Party at OSCON but all the suites are booked. Have a suite? Want to donate it to a worthy cause? Beer, Food and LAN party for all if I can pull it off. Who knows.. it's still in the works.
If I can't work out a suite what do I do anyway? I need a venue, a place to bring food, drink, computers and LAN equipment. Where can that be? Would the hotel object to a setup in... say.. the lobby?
I suppose I could ask... but this is probably one of those times where you just try it and apologize later.
