I finally bit the bullet and got a hard drive for my tiny laptop. I have to install some Operating Systems on it now. This is the not fun part because I have to search around for compatible external hardware.
See, Sony has a fun little propietary scam going. Certain usb floppy drives will be bootable. They must come from Sony. But not *all* Sony models are bootable. What a pain!
Well, I just hope I can figure it all out quickly.
