I found my french press! My good friend Jim Patterson gave it to me a few years ago and I've been using it wrong ever since! I used to put espresso grinds in it, let it sit for 10 minutes, put in warm water (less than 170 (F)). And I thought I made good coffee with it! Bah!
Today I started making coffee with a coarse ground French Roasted bean. Excellent coffee ensued. I wasn't prepared for the amount of caffeine though. What with normally just having a single or double shot of espresso. I'm cutting back from 12oz to 6oz of water from now on.
This is such a great tasting coffee, very full flavor. Next I'm determined to try Turkish coffee. I just need the Coffee Mill and the Ibrik. My birthday is in March, that gives me enough time to work out my French and Italian variations better.
And what other types of coffee are there? Mexican, Cuban. I'm going to have to expand my bean horizons soon as well.
