This is how I found out about my mom's water leak yesterday afternoon:
*phone rings
sister: Casey, I need you to come over to mom's right now, her dining room and basement are completely flooded.
me: How bad?
sister: Really bad.
me: Can you swim in the basement?
sister: Almost.
Sure enough she was right. It was a disaster. Due to a bad solder make 50+ years ago, my mom's antique furniture is now really broken. Six hours and 20 friends later, we managed to contain the mess and even fix the broken pipe. I've not heard what the insurance inspector has to say but it's most likely going to be completely covered for her. Thank goodness, it was a disaster area yesterday.
