And when I read use.perl, I hear voices...

I know it's weird... and at the same time it isn't...

Whenever I read a journal entry by someone I personally know, I mentally read it with the voice of that person...

Another insteresting (or not) fact about me is that whenever I tell a story involving people I know, when I say lines they said, I also make their voices.

I think everyone does that.

I even hear the “voice” of people I don’t know – which is weird, because it’s not actually the sound of a voice, but it still feels like hearing a voice. It is mostly defined by how the person’s “written persona” strikes me and rarely has much to do with how their voice sounds in reality. And it disappears as soon as I’ve heard their actual voice.

Same thing happens with books and movies.

Read the book first, form a picture of the character and what they sound like in my head. If the movie follows that, I tend to like it. If it doesn't, ...

See the movie first, and the characters look and sound like the movie when I read the book.
