I now have an iBook, and that's where I'm posting this from...

It still feels a little bit weird... :-\

I already installed a couple of things, including Firefox, which is what I'm using right now... it sure feels strange... even the font seems wrong... No, the font *is* wrong!!! :-|

I just got an iBook too, and I must say that I am quite pleased with it.

I got a desktop Mac a couple of years ago and could never really get used to it. I think I tried too hard to get it to be "just like Linux". I missed the multiple desktops, the ease of installing packages, the familiar init scripts... This time I discovered Exposé, installed just a coupe of X packages (gimp and openoffice) and generally gave the machine a chance. Of course the fact that power management actually works is already a big upgrade on any Linux laptop I ever had (except for a couple of month back in 2002 ;--).

Only annoyance worth mentionning: the first system upgrade I downloaded made me loose my firewire drive. A firmware upgrade on the disk was available, but I had to find an other mac, which did not have the upgrade, to install it (how can I upgrade a disk that the machine does not see?)

I WANT ONE!!!

:-) If you can't get used to it... remember your friends :-D

Safari

I downloaded Firefox but I use Safari. It seems to render pages FF does not and it quicker.

If it's so bad
