The internship looks like it's going to consist of smoothing out problems with an already-in-place network (which will just have been put in place when I get there, so there'll be plenty of problems to smooth out) and lots of software installation. I've emailed the IT person at the school, so once he writes back I'll know if that description is accurate and whether I'll get the job.
I'm rooting through the Monastery with both lobes for the random traversal script. Once I find it, I plan to steal large parts of it to finish WWW::Chain. Then I can start working on the truly wonky part of the script...the decision-maker which decides which links to check first.
