When it rains, it pours. (Er, when there's a significant deviation in one area there tend to be multiple significant deviations across several areas?)
What I mean is...so much new stuff to learn.
I came online to check^Wdread some more email and instead surfed over to the Monastery for a few minutes, only to find a message from the venerable FoxtrotUniform concerning a language called Haskell. Haskell, in case you're not acquainted, seems pretty darn snifty. I can't understand a lot of it yet (basic concepts of calculus I understand, but I have never heard of lambda calculus -- this bears research) but the example code drew my attention.
Suffice to say I'm interested. I added it to the list I keep on my home node, and realized it was a good time to add a link to the topic of Modules on that same list.
That's when I saw the link on perldoc.com to the info about the debugger.
"You think you're so damn familiar with Perl, why don't you go look at the debugger, smartass?"
And with that prodding exclamation from the peanut gallery of my mind, I went...and now I'm hooked. Gotta try, gotta try.
This is a good sign. Maybe my "mad Perl sk1llz" won't degrade over the summer, and when I do finally manage to score an internship this fall, I won't be completely helpless all over again.
Then again, maybe I'll be a hopelessly addicted Haskell programmer, totally ignorant of Perl.
Don't bet on that, though. ;)
