The code makes sense again. I am at a loss as to why it suddenly became so indecipherable, except that perhaps I've been doing too much code lately.
That even looks funny typed on a screen. Too much coding!
Perhaps I just needed time to digest. For some reason it just wasn't clear to me what elements needed to go where; with a stylesheet, the script itself, the database, and the template files, there were plenty of places. I think, though, that I got it figured out. I've got a few ideas, they're less than half-baked, and I think I can get the final project put together in the time I have.
Another cup of coffee for the next couple hours, and I'll see if I can't get a decent-looking site put together. :)
