Swerving On The Operating System Highway

This is mentally disorienting; zap over to Win32 boot because I need to get something from the net or look at a file I don't know how to look at in Linux, then skate back over to Linux and muddle through code, find something I need that I don't have...repeat until nausea sets in.

I'm getting a little more Linux-proficient, anyway, and I have always tried to be as flexible as possible. It can't hurt to get my brain a little more interoperable.

I tried

My solution was to pester my boss for a Sunblade 100 for a few months until I got one. That worked pretty well, at least until I needed more hard drive space (i.e. the .Net framework).

I also found that, no matter how much I wanted to, I couldn't completely get away from Windows due to software needs. We have some administrative tools (time reporting, etc) that are written in VB plus some other software that either doesn't exist in *nix or isn't nearly as good.
