Doing a little research for Mother has made me wonder why the languages used in AI are the languages used in AI.
I've gotten myself quite a block of stuff to chew on; the aforementioned _Practice of Programming_, _Programming Pearls_, and _Mythical Man-Month_. I'm about halfway through _Man-Month_, if memory serves. That plus an overview of what languages offer what advantages in Natural Language Processing and my current load of schoolwork. (I hate to admit it, but I'm hoping I can find a larger analysis and summarize, instead of having to write one whole cloth.)
At least I don't have to go out and find a job right away. The VA money has made things minimally comfortable (as evidenced by my book purchases).
