Fancy Schmancy

I've been encouraged (read heckled) by the Linux-evangelizing co-worker into trying to get a Winmodem driver working under RH 7.3, but no go so far. Found a driver, but an enormous pile of errors fly by, and I haven't quite gathered up the intestinal fortitude necessary to comb through them looking for problems to fix.

Other than that, so far, the dual boot is a smashing success. I'm very pleased with it, and will be more so once the DSL is in and I don't have to reboot to access the Net every time I'm hip-deep in something back in RH land.

I'm going to have to find either the Linux ports or else something that can replace certain pieces of software under Linux (the software that came with my Mavica, for example) and I'm going to have to figure some stuff out that I've never figured out before (like how to mount my disk-on-key), but none of it's been uninteresting, and I've got reference materials. The only key element now is time. :)
