Looks like I can get the system to boot after all, I'm just a chowderhead. (Pop quiz, hotshot: What does your system do when you install a bootloader on the slaved HD and power it up?)
Now I just need to pull off the funk-encrusted trick that is known as Dual Boot, and things should be peachy. Reinstalling WinME went off without a hitch -- maybe -- at least, no errors came up. And since my boot partition for RH 7.3 is on the same drive as the partition I set aside for WinME, and booted after the WinME install, I think that all I have to do now is reinstall GRUB. Hell, I might even have that done by the end of today, once I get back home.
In the meantime, there's plenty of stuff to laugh at. Perhaps you don't know the pleasure that is the MSTing of Matt Barringer's Detective, but these follow the same format -- written items, interspersed with statements from a human and two robots. While it isn't an ego-boost to laugh at people making fun of a small children who's afraid of CTW characters, it is definately a chuckle or two. :D
