The memory floats up after scanning through some InfoRet docu titles and seeing Terry Winograd's name: The second day I was on the phones at MicroDyne (the second time they employed me), a gentleman with the last name Winograd got me on the phones.
"Like Terry Winograd?" I said. I'd been reading an historical account of various interactions between Winograd and others, so the name was fresh in my mind.
"Yes, he's my brother. Were you one of his students?"
It struck me that, for this man, Terry Winograd was just his brother.
