Baby Steps

I do try to find information on other languages that won't put me to sleep or make me gnash my teeth in frustration. Haskell has been one of the languages on my to-do list for a while, and in looking for tools to learn it, I discovered Helium, sort of a Haskell Light.

The notion of cutting a whole subset of a language out and calling that a language seems both redundant and interesting at once: Redundant, because it's duplication; Interesting, because it tosses aside the notion of "pseudo" this and that and cuts straight to the jugular. I guess part of me can't see why you'd want to create a programming language that would never be worth putting on a resume, but part of me can't see the point of trying to apply twiddly little syntax changes to even the simplest examples constantly.

I'll take a look. Can't hurt. Oh, and I'm considering getting a Klein bottle to keep my half-and-half in at home. Talk about a conversation piece... :)
