It occured to me a while back that the first computers were locks, and the first programs were keys. Explains the lockpicking-hacking connection, at least.
And on a loosely related note: I took some lockpicking classes while I was living in Amsterdam. I discovered that some of the easiest locks to pick were the Master locks that are widely sold in the US.
