Gartner is finally starting to glean that industry is using open source. Apparently Tim O'Reilly seriously opened some eyes last year when he gave a keynote at a Gartner conference. They've gone so far as to create their first ever open source summit this year, and Tim is speaking again.

Many people use Garter information as a major component of their decision making, so it's important that they are finally getting clued-in. As they say, better late than never.

Yeah, seriously. "Gartner: alerting you to important trends 10-15 years after they're fully underway." A steal at only $1600!
