Lufthansa was the first commercial air carrier to send an email while in the air, according to a Boeing press release, although I only heard about it today on Marketplace Morning Report. Boeing was going to deploy the service for the major US carriers, but that has not happened.
Is it worth the $20 an hour that the original carriers originally said they might charge? No---but it may be worth the $30 flat fee that Lufthansa announced.
Now, imagine a warez site 39,000 feet over the Atlantic that only operates in international airspace.
